Harbin University of Commerce

School of International Education

The International Education School was founded on the basis of the Chinese and overseas cooperative educational mode in 2006. We aim to introduce quality overseas education resources, promote the immersion of Chinese and foreign educational modes and supply better educational platforms and smooth channels for students who are going to study abroad or who have the intention.

Students are trained according to the intended international study educational mode, through a cooperative teaching plan designed by both our university and overseas partner universities. The teaching plan embodies international advanced teaching ideas and courses. The foreign language studies are emphasized by increasing the number of classes. These foreign language courses are taught by foreign teachers and focus on developing students’ listening and speaking abilities. Additionally, some of the major courses are taught by foreign teachers, preparing the students to adapt to the overseas teaching modes as soon as possible, and paving the way for their overseas studies. International academic activities are held frequently to broaden students’ international horizon. Furthermore, various activities between foreign teachers and students are held to enhance the students’ abilities of interacting in an international setting. Cooperative teaching applies N+N (2+2, 3+1 and 4+1) teaching mode, where students can acquire a graduation certificate, bachelor’s degree and master’s degree after completing courses and passing all the proper examinations in China and abroad.

Our college has developed a cooperative program with Edinburgh Napier University, Leeds University, Thames Valley University, University of Portsmouth and Queen’s University Belfast. Additionally, the International Education College has developed a student exchange program with University of Central Arkansas (USA), Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology(Japan), Osaka University of Economics (Japan), Honam University (South Korea) and Far Eastern Federal University (Russia). Through the inception of the International Education College, more than 300 students have been abroad.
